Hello!
My name is MyunSoo and I’ve only recently joined DOF! Due to this being my first post on the forums (woo!!) I’ll keep the topic simple.
Since the holiday season is approaching quickly, I’ll be talking about my top 5 favorite holiday season movies! (including Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!) These are movies I watch every year or movies I used to love as a kid!
________
5. The Santa Clause (1994)
Alright.. so I will admit that this movie is kind of stupid.. but as a kid, I absolutely loved this movie! I’m not sure why exactly, I just always would watch it on Disney Channel in December, so I shamefully hold it close to my heart. 3/10
4. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas (1999)/Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas (2004)
I hold both of these movies so close to my heart that I couldn’t pick just one.. UGH! These movies.. I’d watch them on REPEAT all day. I nearly broke the VHS player so many times.. (I know I’m old) 7.5/10
3. A Christmas Story (1983)
I’d have to be insane not to feature this christmas classic. I mean.. seriously. This movie made me deathly afraid of frozen poles. 8/10
2. Halloweentown (1998)
It’s weird to go from Christmas movies to a Halloween movie.. but I just had to feature this movie. The sequels suck, so I’m only talking about the first one. This movie was my transition movie from Halloween to Christmas, I’d watch it all the time in the month of November. Yeah, I know I’m weird. 8/10
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
I bet all of you saw this coming. As I LOVE claymation movies, I couldn’t resist to put this eye candy, aesthetic movie in the list. It’s just so appealing and the cinematography is amazing. 10/10 all around a great movie!
If you have any other holiday season must have movies you watch, feel free to comment them!
I'm gonna share mine too! Some movies that I can't get tired of watching:
Home Alone is just the best! How does he survive without his parents? (Just fantastic!)
Okay, I know it's Barbie, but the plot is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I just love Barbie movies and this one is the best for Christmas. It has the music and dramatic story in it (WHO IS NOT UP FOR THAT, RIGHT?).
MEAN GIRLS! Okay, maybe it's not a seasonal movie, but remember the scene when they were dancing for Christmas? It was hilarious!
I hope everyone will enjoy the season break! WOOHOO for Christmas (soon)!
I can't believe I haven't watched any of the ones you've recommended :o
For Christmas though I think my must-watch film every year is home alone. A good Home Alone marathon on the eve of Christmas with some hot chocolate or tea and I am solve <3
