[DOF] Knowing when Enough is Enough

Hello lil Beanies

It’s been awhile since we've talked. Due to personal issues, I have taken a step back from the whole Habbo scene. But don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere! Since I’ve been struggling, I thought I’d talk about it in today’s (short) post.

Please leave any additional comments below.

________

Knowing when Enough is Enough.

Sometimes it can be difficult to know when to step back and give yourself a break. It’s something I think a lot of people struggle with, but not many people actually open up about. For myself, when I become overworked or when I overdo things, I tend to become moody and I get emotionally overwhelmed. For instance, I jumped into things regarding UN without making sure I was ready first. In order to cope, I’ve had to slow down and take things easy. I need to find a good balance between the right amount of work and too much. Regarding myself, I’m worried I’ll end up working myself too much and become sick of UN, which is of course something I can’t even imagine. I’ve made so many friends and I’ve become very involved with the community. I’m very set on becoming even higher up and even better in our Habbo family. So here’s to slowing down, and learning my own limits. (and never spending 16 HOURS on Habbo ever again…)

If you have any advice for me on how I can better balance my mental health while keeping a steady pace with my UN position, PLEASE comment below! Feedback is greatly appreciated!

I’ll see you all very soon! (ᅌᴗᅌ* )

(my next post will be less depressing and much longer!)

Hello!

Hello! Thank you for making this post! As an OOA, DOE Leader and DOM Admin, I face these problems quiet a lot. The work load REALLY is overwhelming at some times that i cant even go online on habbo to be active in base. And its like you always feel tired 24/7. So what I do during these  times are:

Take care of myself - sometimes i lost track of my eating schedules and end up eating late and not at all. Sometimes i mess up my sleep schedules too. I take a break from everything in a few hours (get food/bath n stuff) to get myself back on track.
Watch movies/shows - This helps me when i get too overwhelmed with habbo, i watch my fave shows/movies to get me back in a good mood.
Explore - Habbo has endless rooms, i give myself a few times to always explore around habbo and not just stay in one room for a lot of hours. You can always go room hoppng with your friends! As for me, i go to coin shops and just see if theres something i would like to buy.
Make a To-Do list - I have only started this last october, and it has been helping me a lot. I keep a list of thing i need to do for a week (im also forgetful, so this is really a big help) I have a habit of checking discord half-asleep so i miss a lot of important messages and ended up not responding to them/forgetting about it so i suggest you to make a to-do list so u can schedule your tasks and not end up doing them all at once.
Surround yourself around good people/avoid the trolls/bullies: Try to make your UN day as "happy" as possible, you know you can always use the ignore button on someone if they make u uncomfortable. I know this is hard to just "always see the positive side of everything" but if you're struggling, you can always ask someone to help you out/ to talk about it.

This post is amazing, I think online especially it can be easy to get caught up in everything. In my time in UN I have compared myself to others, how come that person can spend 15+ hours on habbo daily, how come that other person can manage twice the stuff that I can, it's easy to find yourself trying to reach things that are unrealistic. Knowing your limits as I have discovered is so valuable.

Beating myself up for not being able to be on for even 10+ hours a day was not realistic for me as I have many other things to do in real life.

Taking on too many online tasks at once turned me into a person I didn't like.

Not to mention I started hating habbo, which we all joined in the first place for fun!

So recently, I set myself goals, to better focus my free time that I choose to use on habbo and UN, by finding something that I enjoy doing and stepping back from something I no longer enjoy.

It's honestly the best choice for me and now I can better face the things I have to do in real life without worrying about the things that where dragging me down.

More then that just knowing that it's OK to have a limit is refreshing.

Once you realise that behind the screen we are all unique human beings with different life commitments and challenges, comparison or expecting anther persons limits to be that same as yours, well it seems silly :D

I wish I had of realised that many moons ago :D

Thanks for startng this conversation myunsoo and for the tips you posted Aurelli!
