As a writer, it is not surprising for one to have no idea on what to write; even writers in general--both professionals and students--do come across a scenario in which they are unable to write something down on their manuscript specially for university students. But it is not a detriment as some would believe it to be, and I'll tell you why.
Not knowing what to write begets art; this provides genuity upon writing, making it unique and tasteful. The idea behind having no idea on how to start something lets the writer explore the vast sea of possibilites on what to come up with and, in turn, will inevitably produce a distinct work of art through the process for art is a true account of the activity of the mind, requiring a creativity in order to procreate a masterpiece.
But having said all of that, there are some who fail to respond, and, would melt under the pressure, since in order to create such art requires a personified creativity and a tremendous amount of experience alongside reading tons of literature. That being said however, the capability to write something noteworthy is not a talent, but years of cultivation, thus I daresay failure is common in regards to literature.
So, my advice? Just keep writing! Similar to how one sharpens the blade, in every turn the blade runs through a grindstone would make the blade sharp; similar as to how a writer just keeps on writing and writing. Do not mind the consequences, just keep writing!
