Our second ever <UN> Community Conference was conducted last Saturday (June 1st) by the Department of Suggestions and Department of Community. We’ve compiled all the essentials into minutes for members who missed the event and for members who wish to have a look back. The conference lasted a good 3 hours, with much content to cover and much thoughts to hear from our community!
We run this year’s conference with the motto “Connect. Confer. Conduct.”, representing the United Nation’s dedication to connect with the community to listen to their opinions and ideas, to confer with the relevant units and divisions to create the best solutions, and to conduct changes in the base and community, learning from the impacts of our changes and continuing to connect and listen again to the community.

A. BASE REPORT
The Department of Community was invited into this year’s conference to provide insight on the trends in the United Nations, from the patterns in room population to the recurring traits of UN members in base.

B. OPEN FORUM
This segment was an open discussion for all attendees of the conference. The platform was given to the members to give their suggestions that concern the United Nations and its people. Members were also welcomed to give their point of view towards the suggestions shared.
Below is are the suggestions and following discussions received during the Open Forum.

“I have an idea to put forth regarding the debate of training rooms. In other agencies I’ve been in, I’ve seen a prep area which leads to a training room. There could always be a space for obtaining arrows and a few seats for Trainee to sit on, with a few interactable items. When both Trainee and Trainer are ready, they can go into a teleport. It helps with the chaos and minimizes population drop.”

“I suggest we have a bigger base so that there will be more space between the DOE games are and the Training Station. These two areas are currently beside each other. I’ve seen that Trainers sometimes struggle in training when there is an event going on, due to the chat spam from the games.”

“As a mobile user, I have a hard time filling security. I’d like to suggest a new method, where color plates replace switches and we step on them, or place the switches with a bit of space from each other. On mobile, all switches have the same name without knowing which one is for which color tile.”

“The switch at the Front Stations is kinda hard to explain to new joiners about to be trained, as they need to step forward one tile to go through the gate. Is there a way for us to simply flick the switch and they’d be directly teleported to Security?”

“I’ve been noticing a lot of problems with people trolling and I’m sure this has been highly discussed. I think there needs to be a stricter or more “monetizable” way of dealing with them. Perhaps a direct 1 day ban when they are clearly displaying disruptive behaviour, instead of giving them small warnings.”

“There’s something I’ve always wondered about the OOA system. What is the process to determine whether a member is deserving of the position of Pre-Trial OOA? I understand that the pre-trial period is to test the ability to the member, but I am curious whether there is some sort of discussion made when a Government member is close to 800k rank points?”
