Where comes the money that we get paid with?

  This is something that has been bothering me. We get paid in coins, right? But where does those coins come from? And how does the owners get profit from this?

  Do they get it from donations? Do they forge it? Do they hack? Or are the owners simply rich people with too much time on their hands?

 Can someone answer me, please?
