as I approached my store manager.
It was my first day at work and first day jitters was always a problem to me. I was worried about everything - people’s first impression of me, or what if I’m too clueless for this job and whether they would like me. Too many worries for a simple part-time job at a local pharmacy store. But all these worries, as I realize after numerous experiences, can be dissipated with a series of steps. These steps will help calm you down the next time you are nervous or anxious for the first day of work, or even school!
Step One: Mental Preparation
The earlier, the better. If you already know you have a new job next week. Start preparing today! Play out scenarios of yourself walking into the store and introducing yourself again and again, like how performers rehearse before their actual performance. Find out more about your job scope, or if possible, walk into similar stores and observe how they manage. Research on the internet your possible roles and work you'll be doing so you won't be worried about being completely clueless on the first day of work!
Step Two: Wake Up Early
Assuming your job starts in the morning, wake up a good half an hour earlier to prepare yourself both mentally and physically. Have a wholesome breakfast.Take the bus or train earlier in case of any miscalculations (saves you from all the worrying about being late!) and maybe grab a cup of hot coffee on the way to get the extra energy you need for the day.
Step Three: Fake It till You Make It
When it all comes down to it, and if your heart is still beating like crazy, just fake it till you make it. Psych yourself up. Tell yourself that you are confident and this job will be easy peasy (after you spend the next few months adapting to it, of course) Tell yourself Yes! New friends, woohoo! and then just walk right into it with a smile on your face and see where it'll bring you!

Improvisation. I want to make the most out of everything and being tossed to the crowd naked is the best way for me. Success and failure? Doesn't matter! There's no thrill if you already know what to expect and do. YEET!
Interesting approach! Wish I have guts like yours xD
