The walls that contain
There once was a wall,
A wall so high.
If only I could fucking fly.
I'd soar above in the misty clouds,
Hoping to make these people proud.
Alas I am stuck in the depths below,
Awaiting my life to pass and go.
I'm waiting for that small inspiration,
To help me reach that end destination.
I kick and I swear on my path of despair,
Stuck behind these walls... I glare.
I take a look up and all I see,
Is defeat, dismay and no destiny.
The walls that contain me have a reason,
To help contain my inner demons.
But do not fret because I am ok,
I've learnt to push the pain away.
I keep it locked in a box in a hole,
Away from all but not my soul.
It aches and moans and breaks my bones,
I wish I wasn't in these walls alone.
This solid brick wall that does contain,
Will eventually crumble to the one who remained.
To the one I find who comes with a hammer,
Please break this wall and give my finest hour.
Don't run away if the wall rebuilds,
My dear the job will be unfulfilled.
I'll keep it low and close to the floor,
So that you and I will always be near.
