[DOF] Advice and Second Opinions: Body Odour

Okay, so this is a topic that suddenly came to me and has caused a small debate to my friend and her mom when I asked about it as it was mentioned. One of my other friend also had the same dilemma of his friend apparently having a strong displeasing body odour and he wasn’t sure how to break it to his friend. Moreover, while doing a night shift for my part time job, I was also working with someone who had quite a strong smell and when me and my friend’s mom was talking, she asked me if I noticed the smell (as they usually work together, and she worked in that place but off during that night shift). So I wondered then and asked, do people who possess strong body odour (which isn’t a very pleasant strong smell) aware of their own scent? As mentioned this is what caused the small debate. Now I am very cautious about smell and instantly know when I’m starting to kind of smell, usually if I forget to wear a deodorant and I do some cardio and sweat a lot. But do people who have strong unpleasant smell know that they have it?

My friend debated: No, because they’re so used to it that they are not even aware of their smell because it’s kind of their “norm” already.

My friend’s mom however debated: Yes, but they simply just don’t care and probably don’t wash.

What I wonder though, how can someone continuously have the same smell? Like do they wash? I’m sure after washing the smell should be gone straight away or at least for a while.

What do you think and your opinions about it? Tell me by commenting down below because I am really curious.

was the friend male or female

was the friend male or female? pheromones are funny. i think women should react positively to a manly sweat smell since it is related to manly hormones. but all smells are subjective i guess. and what day you are on in your cycle affects how sensitive you are to these smells and how you react to them iirc. humans are very fascinating :)

Both were male. My friend's

Both were male. My friend's friend was a male and the staff I worked with was also a male. I am not sure and doubt that it's just pheromones but most of my guy friends don't have the strong odour after playing intensely and sweating a lot. I doubt it's just a woman thing too because my friend was a male and he noticed the strong smell of his friend and was complaining about it and asking for advice to how to break it to the friend without sounding too harsh. >.<
