21 Questions is a game I love to play. It's a cool way of getting to know the other person's basic information in a relaxed manner. Most 21 questions I've heard happens during activities such as team bondings, boot camps, gatherings, and the like. It serves as an ice breaker and other times it can be more beneficial than you might know.
21 Questions can be so basic that it's good for new acquaintances. It can also be a basis of pursuing someone you find attractive. It can also be a deterrent in choosing your partner.
Here are 21 Questions that I want to ask people in order for me to learn more about them, how they think, their values and principles amongst others. I took the privilege of answering each question, so you in turn will learn something about me.
21 Questions
01. Would you prefer a cat or a dog? I love dogs. I once had a dog who lived for 11yrs. I'm not saying I dislike cats. I can live with cats, but if I were to choose only one, I'd go for dogs.
02. Are you a morning or a night person? Ermm, for those who know me quite well, you'd know ... I can literally be a 24 hr person - LOL. I generally sleep on or before 2am and get awakened at 4-5am, regardless if it's weekday or weekend, it's the way my body clock works I guess.
03. Do you play any musical instrument? Which instrument would you want to learn to play? I know basic piano, meaning I can read notes and know which key to play. I also play the guitar. At the moment, I started learning the violin, but then the 2nd hand violin in the house broke so I had to set that lesson aside. I would love to learn how to play the drums in the future.
04. If you could go back in time and change something, would you and what would you change? Tankmasterkill asked me this question during one of our talks and I said if I could, I would not literally change something, but maybe I would go back and would've probably done something to prevent the future effect of it.
05. If your parents divorced and were given the chance to choose, who would you live with? Firstly, there is no divorce in the Philippines, so let's say if they did end up separating, I would probably live with my Dad. Mainly because he would need me more than my Mom.
06. Do you prefer lights on or lights off? Now I know what you are thinking, trust me, it isn't exactly related to that. Generally speaking though, I don't prefer the lights on, neither would I want total darkness. I would want a faint hint of light flickering in the corner, just enough to see what lurks in the shadows.
07. What is your shoe size? It really depends on the style and kind of footwear and because of my "wide" feet, most shoes with narrow entrances don't fit me even if I get a bigger size. So on an average I am a size 9-10.
08. Would you pursue a degree in college? For us here in the Philippines, the question isn't if one wants to pursue a degree, the question is does one have the financial capability to study in college. So for the sake of conversation, I would pursue college (well I did - haha). For me education is a plus factor. You can have the skills to thrive without the diploma, but then there are things you learn in school that you need and would eventually use in real life.
09. Where would you prefer to live (city, beach, country)? Honestly, having been living in the city all my life, I cherish the times I wake up in my grandparents place in the countryside. I love how roosters wake me up. I love the smell of fresh air. I love the simple life.
10. Can you survive without internet? Well, if I would want to live in the countryside (in relation to question # 9) then of course I can. I can live without Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and all those social media stuff. As long as there is a radio or newspaper so I can be updated with what's going on in the world. As long as I have access to fresh produce. As long as I have someone I can talk to; internet wouldn't be necessary.
11. Does religion matter in a relationship? I would say it depends on where I am in the relationship. If I am just plainly dating, then it probably wouldn't matter. But if I'm dating to find someone to spend the rest of my life with, then I think it is best to talk about it. Most especially if we don't share the same religion or the basic belief of religion. Somewhere down the road it will become an issue and it is best to know where the other stands before we go further into the relationship.
12. Would you change religion / convert if your partner asks you to? At the moment, I don't think I would convert. I have gone through a lot and made it through because of my faith, I don't feel I need to.
13. If needed, would you work abroad away from your loved ones or stay and find other means or more sources of income? I would probably stay and find other means or sources of income. I would need to exhaust all possibilities and opportunities locally first before I would consider leaving my loved ones behind to work abroad. As much as possible, I would want to be near my parents and sibling and family.
14. Does age matter? Well technically in the Philippines, the older you get, the less chances of you getting hired for specific jobs - so in that sense it would matter. If you're talking romantically though, for me it is not about the number but how matured the individual is. There are 30 year olds who act like they're 12 and there are 13 year olds who are matured enough to handle a relationship.
15. Do you believe that dating shouldn't stop when a couple gets married? Most married couples in the Philippines stop dating when they get married (a good example are my parents, and my uncles and aunts and almost everyone in their generation). Their reason, there are more important things than dating. Which I disagree. I think couples should go out on dates even if they are married already. I think it would help them reconnect and establish a stronger bond that they will carry throughout their lifetime together.
16. Would you rather be deaf-mute or blind? Personally, I would rather be blind. Aside from the fact that I grew up with an aunt who is a Special Education Teacher for the blind, so I am already aware of basic braille and basic know how that are being taught to blind people so that they can fend for themselves in their home; I feel, absolute silence would drive me nuts. I mean, if I close my eyes, I can still know if someone is in the room through my other senses. But to be deprived of speaking and hearing, for me, is heart breaking.
17. Do you believe in ghosts? Yes. I believe there are spirits. I respect those who are skeptical about it because it would really require for you to experience it yourself, before you even start considering there are any. The night my uncle was laid to rest, we all slept in the living room of my grandparents' house in the countryside. It was a 2 storey house and wakes in the countryside are big events here in the Philippines. My grandfather put up tents as high as roof of the house and they put up an electrical wire with a bulb that you turn clockwise to turn off the light. So as I laid on the floor in the living room, beside my mother, I watched how the bulb slowly turned and slowly the light brightened and stayed that way until the next morning.
18. Would you get a plan (Educational, Retirement, Funeral)? Honestly, no. My parents didn't get an educational plan for me and my sibling. They do not have a retirement plan. What they do have is a Memorial Plan (Funeral). I believe in saving for the future. I believe in living within my means and only purchasing what is needed.
19. Live in a nursing home or live with children/sibling? By that time, I would rather be in a nursing home. I wouldn't want to burden my brother or his family, or by that time, my kids and their family
20. Would you rather be laid to rest in a cemetery or cremated? Growing up in the Philippines, Filipinos make All Souls Day and All Saints Day a big event that we spend so much money buying flowers and taking them to the cemetery and spending the whole day there. I remember hearing my mother say she wants to be laid to rest in a cemetery, but it needs to be in a family mausoleum and that she would want people to visit her and bring her flowers and light candles. I on the other hand would prefer to be cremated. I wouldn't want to burden the people I leave behind to go to my grave and bring flowers and light candles just because it's that time of the year; don't bother I'm dead I won't smell the flowers and see the candles.
21. If you could choose between, being able to know the future or being able to travel to the future, which one would you want? I would want to be able to know what the future holds, in that way I would be able to prevent stuff from happening, rather than being able to travel forward in time, only to find out things have already happened.

02. Are you a morning or a night person? I am trying to become a morning person as there isnt allot of jobs for night shifts here, but I am a night person rn I fall asleep between 2 and 3 am but I used to be able to stay up to like 10 or 11 am in the morning.
03. Do you play any musical instrument? Which instrument would you want to learn to play? No but I really want to learn, music means allot to me so learning to play would be so awesome but i used to play the drums in middle school.
04. If you could go back in time and change something, would you and what would you change? There is a person that I feel I neglected and she has turned out becoming an alcoholic. I would go back and see if being there more for her could change those curcumstances.
05. If your parents divorced and were given the chance to choose, who would you live with? My parents have been divorced all my life, I lived most of my life with my mum but I live with my dad now. I dont know where I would want to live rn I really just want my own apartment :D
06. Do you prefer lights on or lights off? Off, I am a night person I prefer darkness, but i hate not being able to see where to go so I like them on too but mosly off.
07. What is your shoe size? jumps a bit between 11 and 13 depending on the shoe and if i am adding a special sole to them, I have very bad feet.
08. Would you pursue a degree in college? I went to Uni for 2 years and flunked out So I really dont know if I should go for a career or just keep a job
09. Where would you prefer to live (city, beach, country)? I like a midle way, a place where I can go away from trafic and people but also close to the city so I only had to drive a few miles if I wanted to go shopping, drinking or something else.
10. Can you survive without internet? NO!!!! My internet is my baby, I need it or I really wouldnt know what to do.
11. Does religion matter in a relationship? No, but I do think personal values and believes matter. I am not religious but I have some values and believes I really couldnt go on compromise with for someone else. Take me as I am with the whole package or the door is over there *makes sassy snap*
12. Would you change religion / convert if your partner asks you to? No as I just stated I am not religious and I would not let a partner change that, what is important for me is that they accept that I am not religious as I would respect if they were religious.
13. If needed, would you work abroad away from your loved ones or stay and find other means or more sources of income?I think I would be able to work overbroad as an experiance to see other cultures and ways of living it would be cool. I would take my loved ones with me if I was able to.
14. Does age matter? I wanna say no and maturity is the only important thing, but I know I couldnt date a 18 year old no matter how mature the person is. It would just feel weird I mostly like to be the young person in the relationship.
15. Do you believe that dating shouldn't stop when a couple gets married? No you should date as long as you feel like it, you are never too old to take ur wife, husband out for a date or just have a nice evening together just the 2 of u.
16. Would you rather be deaf-mute or blind? Mute, I can learn signlanguage and find alternative ways to comunicate with people. I would not be able to find alternative ways to see or hear.
17. Do you believe in ghosts? Yes. I am very spiritual but I do not believe spirits which might sound weird for me being not religious but I do believe in spirits and I do believe something happens with our spirits after we die. What happens I cannot say.
18. Would you get a plan (Educational, Retirement, Funeral)? Education is free here and Retirement is saved automaticly through ur payment through ur whole life so I am covered there, I would get a funeral plan though because I would never want to leave anyone behind with a huge bill after I passed away.
19. Live in a nursing home or live with children/sibling? Nursing home I wouldnt want my children/siblings to take care of me when im too old to take care of myself.
20. Would you rather be laid to rest in a cemetery or cremated? Cremated, I am not religious and it is more eco friendly cause the earth cant compose a coffin, it would just add to the polution.
21. If you could choose between, being able to know the future or being able to travel to the future, which one would you want? Know the future, but I only wanna know what happens in a week so I can check the lotto number :D

I would approach my younger self and tell her to be more confident, to love herself more, to choose her friends wisely, to cherish every moments of our lives with our loved ones and of course i will her tell to love our mom and grandma and appreciate our family more.
05. If your parents divorced and were given the chance to choose, who would you live with? Like what you said, divorce isn't legal here yet. But if ever i have given a chance, I would live with my mom, she's the only family i could trust.
06. Do you prefer lights on or lights off? Lights on, im kinda afraid of the dark, but if i have the Powerful Blanket, i would risk it and have lights turned off!

14. Does age matter?Age should not matter when it comes to work and such but unfortunately it does in Australia. When it comes to relationships I do not think it matters if you are both happy but within reason (like no dating under 18’s if you are 20+)
15. Do you believe that dating shouldn't stop when a couple gets married?Of course! In Australia it is really common for married couples to have date nights or go away on holidays just for them.
16. Would you rather be deaf-mute or blind?I have a friend who is deaf and mute, he can not hear or speak. I have another friend who is blind. Seeing their individual struggles and prioritising that things I do daily I would have to say I would rather be deaf-mute.
17. Do you believe in ghosts?I do not believe in ghosts as in white spooks that go booooo!
I do believe in spirits though, I think the people that we love that have passed on are still around in spirit when we need them.
18. Would you get a plan (Educational, Retirement, Funeral)?Yes. Especially with things such as funerals, when somebody dies the loved ones left behind have enough to deal with without worrying how they will come up with money to pay for a funeral.

20. Would you rather be laid to rest in a cemetery or cremated?Cremated. When somebody is buried they are first embalmed then buried. The embalming chemicals are actually really toxic so until they find a better way to burry I’m going cremation.

1. Doggo or Meownificent? I would prefer a Doggo because cats ain't loyal and I would love to be able to train a Dog.
2. Morningo or Nightski? I am a hooman of the Night ;) I feel like a vampire sometimes but I have my reasons for not being able to sleep.
3. Musical Instrumento? I used to play the drums and was pretty average at them.
4. Time travelling like Doctor Who? If I could go back and change something, I would like to change many things but I cannot pinpoint one so this is a toughy. If I had to change one thing it'd be who I was as a person. I have many flaws and one of them is sadly not giving much of a care to go and do something about those changes.
5. Parents Divorced? If my parents had divorced, I would most likely go and live with a sibling because I wouldn't be able to handle that shit. I don't really speak to my parents as is but seeing them unhappy would make me distraught.
6. Night time, Day timeeee? Well personally I prefer the lights to be off as I am an ugly mofo.

8. College or Nahhhh? Fuck no, I already dropped out once for the same reason I hated the 5 years I suffered at secondary school.
9. Place to live? G'day mate. Throw another shrimp on the barbie ;)
10. Interwebs? Yeah easily man. I would sleep most of the day and then go and be active.
11. Religion Relationship? If it starts to become a problem then I would sort it out quicker than a tramp on chips. If it isn't forced upon me and nothing is expected of me then we are good.
12. Convert? I would not because I am stubborn but have my own beliefs. If a strong enough argument was brought forward then I may consider it. If our relationship is hanging in the balance on this one topic then they are clearly dating for the wrong reasons.
13. Abroad? If the job abroad was well paying I would certainly have a discussion with my partner about it as it is something that concerns the two of us. If it wasn't however, I would turn it down and stay at home. If I was in the Military though this would be completely different.
14. Agerino Matterino? I think age does matter in a lot of things nowadays as people will be very quick to judge if something is wrong or yeah. I feel like I would ramble so YES. xD
15. Dating in marriage? I think this should definitely continue because you need that one evening a week or fortnight to dress up and treat your lady. Just because you've "locked" them down with a ring, They could easily Foxtrot Oscar and start having affairs if they aren't made to feel special and like they're the only woman in the world.
16. Deafo-Muto or Stevie Wonder? I think I would rather be blind because not being able to hear the little things that make me smile or being able to convey my ideas to people in a fit of rage because they're wrong would piss me off.
17. Casper? :O I have heard many stories from my parents about their old house and also my brother responding to ghosts or some form of presence which has given me some thought on the matter but I have never had any proof myself so I am very much still on the fence about the situation.
18. Plan or what? I would definitely get a plan/ life insurance because I do not want the government to shaft my potential family when I die. They tax everything in the UK even after you fucking die... Cretins!
19. Nursing home or Burden? I would rather be dead via Euthanasia if I got to that stage in my life but if I had to choose and my financial situation could afford too, Care home.
20. Led down or Burned? I would rather be burned but it'd depend on my partner (if I had one) and what they would prefer. Some people would struggle having my ashes around the house as it is a constant reminder. My friends ashes were put inside a wooden cube which has photos of him on all faces which is a really nice sentiment.
21. See into the future or travel? I would prefer to travel to the future because then I could at anytime just put an end to this shit if things go badly. Would be nice oh and if I was single of course. I wouldn't want to burden a partner or family with that shit.

01. Would you prefer a cat or a dog? I LOVE BOTH. My dream is to have both of them
02. Are you a morning or a night person? Neither. I sleep as much as I can, any time and anywhere.
03. Do you play any musical instrument? Which instrument would you want to learn to play? Flute. I would want to learn guitar and piano. Tried both but by myself, never had the tenacity to continue.
04. If you could go back in time and change something, would you and what would you change? I would go back to my time in school and open myself up more. Talk to more people, make more friends. Not that I would keep all of them, but connections really do matter at later parts of life.
05. If your parents divorced and were given the chance to choose, who would you live with? My mum. My dad's a workaholic and I need attention.
06. Do you prefer lights on or lights off? I'm not sure if I'm taking this question the right way, but I usually have it on. *winks*

08. Would you pursue a degree in college? Yes. In fact, I'll be doing so in about half a year.
09. Where would you prefer to live (city, beach, country)? Beach near the city.
10. Can you survive without internet? Nope.
11. Does religion matter in a relationship? I'd say it depends. I'm a free-thinker dating a Christian. But I'm okay with it cos my partner ain't a hardcore christian. Things might be different if my partner was like a die-hard worshipper.
12. Would you change religion / convert if your partner asks you to? Nope.
13. If needed, would you work abroad away from your loved ones or stay and find other means or more sources of income? If needed, of course. Loved ones matter, but if I can't even support myself, how am I going to support my loved ones?
14. Does age matter? As long as it's legal.
15. Do you believe that dating shouldn't stop when a couple gets married? Yes. Never stop dating. It keeps things going.
16. Would you rather be deaf-mute or blind? Deaf-mute. If I'm blind, I can't play Habbo. And of course, I won't be able to see a lot of other beautiful things in life.
17. Do you believe in ghosts? Yes. I'm not going to freak you guys out with my experiences, but yes!
18. Would you get a plan (Educational, Retirement, Funeral)? Not yet. Hopefully soon.
19. Live in a nursing home or live with children/sibling? Depends on my health. If i'm healthy, with family always. If not, nursing home may be more convenient for everyone.
20. Would you rather be laid to rest in a cemetery or cremated? Doesn't matter to me. if I'm dead. I'm dead.
21. If you could choose between, being able to know the future or being able to travel to the future, which one would you want? Knowing the future would be good. Lottery money, life saving. Many things can be controlled. This is me assuming that travelling the future won't change the future.
