[DOF] Entertainment - Forrest Gump ( and sequel ? )

A few of days ago while I was taking care of my father in the hospital, tinkering on my phone, scrolling thru videos that caught my interest, I chanced upon this trailer, that appeared to be a sequel of the movie Forrest Gump.

Forrest Gump was released in 1994, probably most of UN members weren't even born back then. I first watched it in 2000 while I was bored and tired of watching hallmark movies on youtube.  I clicked the t.v. remote to browse thru the channels and  saw it being shown on HBO.

Forrest Gump is a romantic-drama based on a novel of the same title which stars Tom Hanks.  The story starts with Forrest sitting on a bench at a bus stop in Georgia as he recounts his life story to strangers.  In 1956 he meets Jenny on his first day of school and becomes his only friend.  He gets bullied by kids for wearing leg braces and having marginal intelligence.  One day while bullies chase him, Forrest starts running and his leg braces come off, Jenny starts shouting for him to "Run Forrest Run", with his newly found ability to run fast, he lands a football scholarship in 1963.  After graduation he enlists in the US Army where he meets and befriends fellow soldier Bubba who convinces Forrest to go into a shrimping business with him after the war; in 1967 they get sent to Vietnam and Bubba gets killed in action during an ambush. Forrest however saves most of his co members in the platoon including his lieutenant Dan, while he himself gets wounded, earning for himself the Medal of Honor for his heroism. While recovering from his gunshot wound he discovers his talent for ping-pong.  He then becomes a ping pong celebrity.  When he finally returns home, he endorses a company that makes ping pong paddles, uses his savings to buy a shrimping boat, Dan invests their money in Apple Computer (to which Forrest thought was a fruit company), making them both financially secure for the rest of their lives.  However, Forrest gives half of his earning to Bubba's surviving family.  Forrest then returns home to see his mother's last days.   In 1978, Jenny returns to visit Forrest and he proses to her but she declines, after spending the night with him; unfortunately she slips out his room and  leaves the next morning.  Broken-hearted Forrest decides to go for a run, and keep running across the country several times over three and a half years, becoming famous in the process.  The story goes back to the present as Forrest waits for the bus.  He finally gets on and goes to visit Jenny, she then introduces Forrest to a boy named Forrest Gump, Jr. and tells Forrest that she is sick of an unknown virus.  They move back to Alabama, get married and Jenny dies a year later.  The movie ends with Forrest and his son waiting for the school bus on Jr's first day of school.

What made the movie so funny and cool was the inclusion of "celebrities" in the movie, thanks to technology they were able to crop in Elvis Presley, a few US Presidents and many more.

Unfortunately, the Forrest Gump 2 trailer is not a real movie trailer but a fan-made one.

It has been more than 20 years since the first Forrest Gump was released and there had been rumors of a sequel back in early 2000's but nothing has actually come up.

I would love to see another Forrest Gump movie. It could probably show how he is as a single father, how they lived thru 20 years of adventure.  Maybe even a wedding for his son and Forrest being a grandfather for the first time.
