Hey guys I’m Courtney and I have decided to share the wonders of Canadian food with all of you because who doesn’t love food! As much as I would love to do off on all sorts of food I have decided to pick only one type of amazing Canadian food to talk about today. THE POUTINE!
The Poutine is a dish that had been originally hand crafted in Quebec Canada back in the 1950’s and quickly spread across Canada catching the eye of local fast food chains. What is secret to this fabulous food? Well I’ll share this amazing secret, it consist of: French fries, Cheese curds, and gravy. Who what a thought that fries, cheese, and gravy would go so well together. Well ladies and gentlemen it goes tighter like peanut butter and jelly!
Most restaurants will serve a poutine as a main dish or side dish as well as most fast food chains in Canada such as: Smoke's Poutinerie, New York Fries, McDonald's, Wendy's, A&W, KFC, Burger King, Harvey's; BUT this food is always available to make homemade with grandmas homemade gravy. While most people like to keep the poutine classic looking you get the odd the person who “dresses-up” the poutine using bacon, jalapenos, hamburger meat, etc. some people might use sweet potato fries for their poutine or use waffle fries. In the end how you make it is up to but always remember that us Canadians invented the poutine. It is a proud Canadian food and will always be proud Canadian!
I thank you all for reading about my favorite Canadian food, until next time, GET IN THAT KITCHEN AND MAKE YOURSELF AND POUNTINE! Please let me know what you think of such a great creation.
Looks delicious ! :)
I remember when you first suggested this to me and I still make it today!
