To Take Or Not To take

In all honesty, I am having second thoughts about posting this piece, but I know my readers will not assume that I judge people.

I was a freshman in university shifting classrooms in between periods, when all of a sudden there were shouting and screaming from the room we just vacated.  We all ran back to check it out and found a chair near an opened window. A couple of our classmates were looking out, wailing.  From what I have gathered, one of our classmates, opened the window, sat on the ledge and decided to end her life.  I looked out from one of the windows, a crowd was starting to form while the university guards, medical people were checking what might have happened and probably gathering information. We watched as she was carried into an ambulance; from the 3rd floor where we were, we could see particles of what we assumed were parts her brain scattered all over that area of the sidewalk. Honestly, it was the most gruesome sight I have ever witnessed so far.

During my junior year in the same university, we were once again sad witnesses to the realities of life, more so the end of it.  A janitor found a lifeless, dilapidated fetus in one of the trashcans in the girl's comfort room, somebody either miscarried and left it there or took a pill and had an abortion. A priest was called for, the area was secured, nobody knew who the mother was.

In one of my previous posts, I mentioned that life oftentimes deal us with curve balls.  It comes in all different shapes and sizes: health, financial problems, family problems, studies, break ups, seizure of employment, whatever it is, it shakes our world.  It tests our character.

I know that life can get frustratingly difficult.  More often than not, it leaves us hanging and wondering if we can still hold on and fight for another day.

I feel bad for those who resort to taking their own life or taking the life of an unborn child, no matter how harsh the situation is, no matter how sickening the events may have been that led to this condition;  I believe there is always someone who is willing to extend a helping hand all we have to do is ask. That there are other choices than suicide and/or abortion.

If you feel overwhelmed, stressed, depressed, abandoned; please do not consider taking your life or having an abortion. Reach out to the different organizations, government and non government agencies for assisstance.

Do not let this single current bad moment push you into making decisions you probably might regret in the future.

Talk to someone.

Ask for help.

And if you belive in a higher power, pray.

p.s. No judgement here, I know circumstances differ and people are not the same. I can not even imagine how hard it must have been for people undergoing or who went through it.

That there are other choices

That there are other choices than suicide and/or abortion.

yes :D

We are lucky to have choices

We are lucky to have choices avalible to us

It is sad that some people

It is sad that some people would resort to such option but there is always the choice whether they want to try and solve it or just go the easy way around of just ending their lives. It is not always easy but I think what some of us fail to do is to recognise this cues (as many people are very good at hiding what exactly they feel and would prefer to hide it) and by recognising some of the cues, we can identify these people and try to help them out and talk to them ;-;
