I am a big movie nerd, I like any genres comedy, action, drama, horror, sci-fi.
But of course there are some movies I like more than others, this is a list of some of my favorite movies, I have watched so many that I most definitely will leave a few out but at the top of my head these are some of the movies that has either moved me or surprised me the most through time.
The Godfather Part 2 1974.
This is in my opinion the best movie ever made, I love the whole series but this movie is where it tops for me.
Al Pacino plays a mafia Don and he does it to perfection, the amount of emotions he goes though towards the movie are countless.
From the love he has for his wife, the to mercyless anger he has towards the other mafioso families.
The soundtrack for this movie is amazing as well, Nino Rota is an amazing composer, and every single song fits the theme of that particular scene perfectly.
Kill Bill Vol 1 2003.
Quentin Tarantino is my favorite movie director and to find his best movie is almost impossible for me, Kill Bill takes the price though.
Uma Thurman plays a revenge thirsty woman out to find the man who killed her child.
To find him she needs to take a long journey, and have to kill many other people as well.
This movie has everything a great soundtrack, bloody action scenes and a very thought out plot that have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
Bit a of a warning though if you don't like blood this is not the movie for you because it is very visual.
Johnny got his gun 1971.
This movie is so thought provoking, it is an anti war movie about a guy called Joe who goes out to fight in WWI.
Unfortunately he gets very injured, and the rest of the movie is inside his head laying in the hospital not able to feel his legs, he is also blind and cant speak.
The movie shows the mind of a man just wishing to die, but not being able to communicate in any way with the doctors or nurses at the hospital.
Léon: The Professional 1995.
This movie is about a 12 year old girl that after losing her parents movies in with her neighbor without his consent.
What she doesn't know is that he is a bounty hunter.
Their relationship to each other grows very oddly, and the girl has to grow up faster than good for her.
This movie has a very interesting plot, and it shows that the cold blooded killer can have some compassion after all.
City of God 2002.
In the streets of Rio De Janeiro the capital of Brazil we follow 2 young men with completely different paths in life.
Buscapé wants to be a photographer, and tries to scrape the little money he has together for a decent camera.
Dadinho wants to be a gangster just like his brother, he is tired of always being the person to stand guard, while they make robberies.
City of God portrays the slums of Rio, and the people living in such poverty that they have to seek a life of crime to survive.
We follow the two boys from their childhood to adulthood with all the ups and down on the way.
Warning: This movie has some very visual scenes, should not be watched by minors without parental assistance.
I would recomend every single one of these movies, they are classics and are some of the few movies I can see over and over.
Remember these are my favorite movies, you might agree and you might not, list some of your favorites in the comments and explain why.
Unfortunately I have only watched the Godfather in your list of movies. Maybe I’ll try to watch it sometime.
